The hosts – the MAVL`S

Without the Waldner family the Waldner Hotels wouldn’t be what they are today. Being good hosts lies in their blood and is very important to them. The Waldner Hotels have grown with them. Each year they have become a bit more extensive, comfortable and appealing.

Anneliese Waldner

Anneliese takes care of the fine details in the hotel, is available to answer guests‘ questions, helps out in the restaurant and has an eye for detail.

Martin Waldner

Martin is a born host. As a child he helped out in his parents‘ business and learned how to be a passionate host. Without his nature and ability to implement things, the Waldner hotels wouldn’t be what they are today.

Vanessa & Lukas Waldner

Both children help out in the Waldner hotels whenever possible. However, before they follow in the footsteps of Martin & Anneliese they are still gaining experience and continuing to develop.

Hotel Gartnerkofel

On 1 October 1997, the Waldner family took over the Hotel Gartnerkofel with 40 bedrooms. Over the past decades, the hotel has been renovated, expanded and converted. The Gartnerkofel currently has 117 bedrooms and suites. Adults and families feel equally at home at the Gartnerkofel and it is one of the most popular family and sport hotels in Austria. The location makes it the ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in summer, and in winter you can go directly from the hotel to the slopes.

Hotel Löffele

The Hotel Löffele was first mentioned in official documents in 1790. Martin Waldner’s grandparents bought it in 1936. His parents, Herta and Christof Waldner, carried on the tradition for many years. It is the parental home of Martin Waldner and the place where he grew up. Continuing the family business in Weißbriach is therefore a matter close to his heart. The focus at the Hotel Löffele is on Carinthian sociability and good food with regional products, which is appreciated not only by our guests. It’s also the ideal place for family celebrations, company events or birthdays.

Winkelalm

The Winkelalm, also known as “Malga Winkel”, is located on the Italian side of Nassfeld. Since 2022, the chalet has been offering food and drink on Wednesdays and Sundays from the end of May to early November. We spoil both our guests and hikers with a small menu and drinks.

The highlight on the Winkelalm is the picnic for all guests of the Hotel Gartnerkofel and Hotel Löffele, which takes place once a week.

Berggeisthütte

The Berggeisthütte is located in the idyllic Gitschtal valley, which is also known as the “valley of the outlaws”. In the winter months, the chalet is open every day from Christmas to early March and is located directly on the ski slope in the family ski region of Weißbriach. The illuminated toboggan run promises fun and action on an enjoyable evening.

In the summer months, we offer our mountain breakfast once a week in the chalet. This is inclusive for Hotel Löffele guests.

Seehexe

The Seehexe, also known as the Oswald lido, is located directly on Lake Pressegg. Guests of the Hotel Gartnerkofel and Hotel Löffele have free entrance in the summer months and can swim, relax or hire pedalos.
